Setting up your prompts
Build a prompt set that reflects real customer decisions rather than vanity queries.
Start with buyer intent
Prioritize questions that can change a shortlist: best tools for a job, alternatives to a known product, products for a specific team, pricing fit, integration requirements, migration concerns, and category comparisons.
Use natural customer language
Write prompts the way a buyer would ask them. Include audience, constraint, job, and context when those details materially change the answer.
- Best AI visibility tool for a two-person content team
- Alternatives to [competitor] with weekly reporting
- Which platform tracks ChatGPT citations across multiple countries?
- How should a B2B SaaS team measure visibility in AI answers?
Avoid prompt noise
Do not fill the workspace with near-duplicates. A smaller, intentional set is easier to diagnose and makes changes more interpretable. Retire prompts that no longer represent a real buying journey.
